Watch the new video: Bokken Training Drill Video - Practice Ninjutsu Bujinkan Katana Strikes and Blocks

Bokken Training Drill Video - Or Use a Shinai or Foam Training Sword

14th Dan Shihan Mark Roemke uses a Bokken to demonstrate training drills to practice the distance and movement of strikes and blocks related to katana sword attacks. Moving to change the angle you use to face your opponent and stepping to alter your distance from the attacker are critical. This drill shows you how to safely practice some techniques to learn effective blocking and striking that can be useful for any katana martial art students.  Use a shinai, bokken or foam practice sword to avoid injury during katana training.

Sensei Roemke is demonstrating sword techniques from the Machida Family Enbukan school in Japan where he trains, and also under Soke Hatsumi, Grandmaster of Bujinkan Budo Taijutsu.
